According to the lady I got this from, the two bracelets I'm listing date from the early 1900-1920's. Her grandmother was born in the 1920's and they were in the family prior to her birth. They were bought in Topeka, Kansas. I share this just as the provenance for the pieces...I tend to believe that they are quite old because of the small wrist size...a lot of older pieces seem to have fit smaller women than we are today!
The only mark is a "JT"; I found a couple of other pieces on line that list these initials but there was no further identification...evidently those owners had had no more luck in identifying the mark than I have!!
I did take these to a very knowledgeable person in this type of jewelry and he believes that they are indeed "old pawn" and most likely Navaho, and they seem to fit that genre well.
The bracelet is 1-1/2" wide in the center and 5-1/2" inner circumference. This bracelet is extremely heavy for its size. The three pieces of turquoise have a great deal of character and the simplicity of the four silver bands that carry them gives the whole bracelet a very dignified look. There is a nice heft to it that gives you the feeling of quality workmanship.
This is a great piece of jewelry and deserves a new life where is will be worn and appreciated for its history and beauty.
