When I found this piece from an estate, I thought it would be one by a favorite company of mine who did lovely imaginative pieces using the goldtoned wire. I was quite surprised that this sweet piece was done by Monet, a much better-known company and just as nicely done!
This splendid fellow has two separate wing on each side of his body, each gracefully done in the glittering goldtoned wire. His body carries the Monet stamp with the copyright and cleverly hides the clasp so that he looks as if he's perching wherever you might want him.
He measures just a smidgen under 1-3/4" lengthwise and a smidgen over the 1-3/4" across. Obviously he's been well cared for and for a vintage piece, he's in excellent condition.
Butterflies are always a popular theme, and this little fellow is a classic! Ready to fly, perch, and be loved by someone new!
