My last piece of Buchan Riviera pottery.
This pitcher is ideal for iced tea, lemonade or sangria. It is large with pouring lip and comfortable handle. The decoration is shades of ochre and pine green on aqua. It is ovenproof. Other than the minute chips in the rim(see photo) that are more flakes of glaze than chips, the pitcher is in excellent condition. It is 6-7 inches high and 22 inches around at the widest. Lovely just to look at or use.
The pitcher was made by the long closed Buchan Pottery in Portobello Scotland. They are perhaps best known for their Thistle pattern sold mostly to tourists. This piece is from the Riviera line and is 261/70, Riviera M7 188(might be a 5. last # is smeared).
