A Collectable Handmade, Bohemian Decorated Vase.
This is a 1980’s, Bohemian Art Glass Design, primarily with Blue, Gold and slight Green tinges.
Iridescent Glass, is a technique which is perhaps best described as the rediscovery of ancient glass making civilizations.
This oxidation process occurs normally, under certain conditions. Glassmakers like Loetz, Tiffany and others, all rediscovered and utilized this quality, in order to give decorative effects to various glass products’
This particular tranquil and flowing shape for the vase is quite classical, much influenced by the earlier Oriental porcelains going back for many centuries.
It has a timeless design which quite literally; is fused together with the flowing iridescent decoration.
A medium sized, and heavy vase. Ideal as a object in itself; or for displaying an artistic group of flowers and twigs; either fresh or dried.
Both the colours and design; do prefer a bit of artificial or sunlight, in order to bring it alive. It is definitely not an object, to have sulking in a dark corner somewhere.
A good balance of colours and design, it being both elegant and functional.
Approximate size in centimeters is; H. 18.0. Base dia. 5.0. weight; 800 grams (less than a lb)
Condition; The condition is good. No chips, or damage to the object etc. It bears, the pontil mark on the base.
