Antique Akoya Pearl Necklace Strand Vintage Deco Signed

Beautiful Quality Antique Pearl Necklace Strand, Japanese Akoya Pearls Vintage Art Deco, c.1940, Signed with Clamshell Hallmark. The necklace is composed of 81 genuine cultured Japanese akoya ocean pearls, originally purchased in Tokya Japan, circa 1940. The clasp is marked with the Japanese hallmark S for silver and a clamshell hallmark with a T, a contemporary of the Mikimoto pearl company noted as some of the finest pearls in the world. The lustrous pearls graduate from about 8mm in the center to about 4.5mm by the clasp. The pearls are very fine quality with gorgeous matched color and a luminous glow that reflects bits of pink in the light. The strand measures approximately 17 5/8 inches in length from clasp to pearl end. The pearls are finished of with a lovely vintage clasp composed of solid high grade Japanese silver, with a lovely ornate engraved pattern and a matched pearl upon its center. This vintage pearl necklace dates circa 1940 and in lovely estate condition.
