This Original Poster is in Excellent / Near-Mint condition, with minor corner, edge and surface wear ; staple holes in all four corners ; some wrinkling at the extreme right (white) edge. Like most posters of this size, it is printed on extra-heavy glossy poster stock. It has always been ROLLED - never folded.

This gorgeous poster features terrific BOB PEAK artwork of the movie's two superstars, MARLON BRANDO and JACK NICHOLSON, along with a sketch of cowboys riding a herd of horses, against a dappled tan / brown background.

About the Artist:

Connecticut artist BOB PEAK created the graphics / artwork for over 200 films, including WEST SIDE STORY , MY FAIR LADY , APOCALYPSE NOW, THE MISSOURI BREAKS and EXCALIBUR. His special talents enhanced the standard movie poster conceptions of his time from static head-shots to rich, opulent, almost flamboyant illustrations.
He created 45 covers for Time Magazine and received the largest commission for an individual artist from the US Postal Service, to design over 30 stamps and 31 watercolor paintings depicting historical Olympic moments for the 1984 LA Olympics. Several of his works are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonion Institute, the American Museum of Sports and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Communications Arts magazine included BOB PEAK among the top 18 pioneers of the industry who made major contributions to visual communication over the previous four decades, helping to shape and define the field.
