Jessie Kalmbach Chase, 1879 - 1970, was known for her paintings and prints of Lake Michigan and Wisconsin lakes' shorelines. This is a Serigraph, 5 x 6 3/8, signed in pencil "Jessie K. Chase". Also hand-written is the name of the picture, and the number of the edition. It is in fine condition; no tears, foxing staining or creases on the creamy-colored textured paper. Jessie Chase was a WPA Muralist and painter of landscapes and rivers. She lived and worked in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois. She was born in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and as a member of Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors, participated in a variety of exhibitions in Milwaukee and around the United States. Jessie Chase is listed in Fielding's, Mallett, Who Was Who in American Art and Davenport's Art Price Guides. We recently sold two other Jessie K Chase landscapes.
