This is a 1980 silver tone/pewter promotional necklace from Spring Hill Nursery. Attached to this 9’ in china is a round quarter size pendant with a 3D affect of a boutique of flowers tied together with a ribbon. On the back is stamped “1980 Spring Hill Nurseries” .
Spring Hill Nursery opened up in 1849 in North Dayton, Ohio. The name Spring Hill” derived from the hill located across the creek from the present day location of the garden’s store’s growing area. Still today Spring Hill Nursery is going strong with its mail-order catalogs for spring and fall.
I personally have flowers from Spring Hill Nursery, so to find this necklace in a lot of vintage jewelry I bought was quiet a surprise. I almost wanted to keep it for myself.
