Estate Sale Find: Symmetalic Sterling & 14kt. Jasperware Cameo Pin or Brooch. Symmetalic is the registered trademark of W. E. Richards company, founded about 1900 in Attleboro, Mass. and they are still in business. W. E. Richards was the manufacturer of 10kt gold and silver jewelry, mostly rings, pins and pendants. The trademark Symmetalic was first used in 1936. Symmetalic jewelry is mostly made of sterling silver, however, many items were coated with 14kt gold, (Vermeil), and their designs reflect an Edwardian and Art Deco influence. This company was known to use TOP QUALITY stones and cultured Pearls. Symmetalic is hard to find and highly collectible... and not produced. (Not sure of when they stopped using the hallmark - Seems to be the 40's).
