Vintage antique hand painted barette floral oval hair accessories ll2045

This very sweet hair barrette is quite old but in fine condition. It is an oval tile, probably celluloid, that has been hand painted with a yellow flower and part of a purple one. Under magnification you can see the incredible detail in the veins and shadows of the flowers. Even the sides of the tile are painted. This tile is set in a gold tone frame with a zig-zag design. The barrette fastens by double prongs secured by C hooks. It is 1¼ inches long in great condition. A protective glaze has been applied to the paint and it is beginning to wear but you can only see that under magnification. Lovely little piece for you or your little girl. Or have your jeweler replace prongs with a baile and wear this as a pendant.
