If you are thinking about buying this, don't put it off too long. I might add it to my own key ring which looks more like a charm bracelet than a key ring.
There are many questions I can't answer about this key ring. It looks like pewter, is quite heavy and solid, but I can't make out the marks on the bottom so I'm stuck for information. Looks like a copyright symbol and a G and other marks that look like ^ .
Here is what I know. A key ring in the shape of an old fashioned high topped shoe that buttons up the side. The buttons and toe box are covered in green glittery enamel. One button is missing its glaze and the toe of the shoe has also lost a bit. I bought it with the idea of getting out the craft box and fixing it. But the more I looked at it the more I liked it the way it is.
How like an old boot or shoe. When this shoe was in fashion, most women had only one pair of shoes, two if they were better off. This boot has a scuffed toe, a missing button and worn down heel. The body of the boot shows the wrinkles and wear of years of use. Perhaps these had belonged to a rich lady and she passed them on to her maid when she was tired of them or they showed too much wear for her station.
And so I decided to leave the boot as is. Hope you like it.
