Vintage 1978 Mcdonalds Garfield and Odie Clear Glass Coffee Cup Mug Jim Davis

This is an Original, Vintage 1978 coffee mug or cup featuring Garfield and Odie from McDonalds one cup from a set of four with two different sets being made in 1978. This one has the artwork done by Jim Davis just as in books he wrote also. One warning from what I researched online the paint on these have very high lead content so do not use for drinking from. Paint looks very good on these for their age with none missing, faded or flaked away. The picture in multi-colors of paint shows Garfield and Odie paddling a Canoe in opposite directions. In the word bubble above Garfield you can read his thoughts which are " I'm Easy to Get Along with when things go my way". Also in print towards bottom of picture are the words "GARFIELD Characters: 1978 United Feature Syndicate, Inc." and artist's name "JIM DAVIS". On the bottom of the mug you can see the maker of the glass's Logo Anchor Hocking and USA since made here in the USA. The cup is made of a clear glass. It is 3 3/8" inches in height X 4 1/4" inches in diameter including the handle, without the handle it is 3 1/16" inches in outside diameter. The inside diameter of the mug is 2 3/4" inches with an inside Depth of 3 1/8" inches. It weighs 10.7 ounces empty. This would be a great addition to any collection of McDonald's items or Garfield's, be great in a matching decor theme or make a great gift to someone.
