Remington Model 870 History/Technical Details, Exploded View W/Parts Legend 2017

This is a very nice detailed and info packed litle two page article that was taken from an August 2017 American Rifleman Magazine that was not in the best condition so tried to save articles or ads such as this that have lots of factual info or history in them. This article is packed with historical, technical details, an exploded view with parts legend and disassembly/reassembly instructions along with illustrations showing some of more difficult or confusing parts of the breakdown process. The firearm featured in this article is one of the most popular and best selling shotguns ever made the "Remington 870". The 870 was first introduced in 1950 as the wingmaster in 12, 16 or 20 gauge and featured a smooth action with dual action bars and a bolt that locked into a hardened steel barrel extension instead of the receiver like all the earlier pumps made. This set the hallmark of nearly every pump shotgun since. It not only had style but it had an attractive price tag to starting with 15 versions prices starting at 69.95. In 1966 the one millionth 870 was produced and in 1969 the 410 and 28 gauge were added to the lineup and by 2017 when article was written over 11 million had been produced with very few changes in them.
