Vitamin D3 has multidirectional effects , including: regulates calcium and phosphate metabolism, increases the absorption of calcium and phosphates in the intestines, affects the bone mineralization process and is necessary for the proper functioning of muscles and the immune system. Vitamin D3 deficiencies may lead to the development of rickets, bone mineralization disorders, osteoporosis and disorders of the immune system .
Indications:
- prevention of rickets and osteomalacia in children and adults,
- prevention of rickets in premature infants,
- prevention of diseases at risk of vitamin D deficiency in children and adults,
- prevention of vitamin D deficiency in children and adults,
- supportive treatment in osteoporosis in adults.
Composition:
1ml (40 drops) contains 500µg of cholecalciferol (corresponding to 20,000 IU of vitamin D3). One drop contains 12.5µg of cholecalciferol (corresponding to 500 IU of vitamin D3).
Excipients: triglycerides of medium chain saturated fatty acids.
Dosage:
Premature babies: 2 drops a day of Vigantol solution (1000 IU vitamin D3). After reaching the 40th week of age, the corrected age should be reduced. The dosage must be determined by the attending physician.
Newborns and infants (up to 12 months): 1 drop per day of Vigantol solution (corresponding to 500 IU of vitamin D3).
Adults, adolescents (aged 12 and over) and the elderly: 1 drop daily of Vigantol solution (equivalent to 500 IU of vitamin D3). Supportive treatment of osteoporosis in adults: 2 drops daily of Vigantol solution (corresponding to 1000 IU of vitamin D3).
