When mature, Alocasia 'Regal Shields' has nearly black leaves with burgundy underneath. Plants originated from Aroidia Research, LariAnn Garner. Great for the Landscape, container-growing, or indoors. Royalties have been paid on all of our "Propagation Prohibited" varieties.

During the cold and dark of fall and winter, this plant goes into dormancy, so your order may arrive with no leaves. No fear. This is an important part of the growing cycle in which the plant is strengthening its root system. It's still a healthy plant that will begin growing new leaves in spring when there is more light and warmer temperatures during the day and night.
