Excellent history of how early New Orleans jazz was influenced by the Brass Bands in the city. Many VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHS of the early brass bands and a complete description of a funeral in New Orleans. Ends with a complete "bandstration" with all parts for performance of the funeral march "Fallen Heroes," and notes on each chapter.
A MUST for the Jazz Historian, Fan Or Collector, especially with the destruction of so much from Hurricane Katrina!
