Assignment Content
Select a current or past project with which you have been involved in your organization or community. Please notice that there two parts to this assignment, a form and a description section.
Prepare a project proposal form (sample template attached below) similar to Figure 2.4A on Ch. 2 of Project Management for this project.
Address the following elements:
o Project classification
o Business the project solves
o Alignment with organizational strategy
o Major project deliverables
o Impact of not doing the project
o Three major project risks
o Measures of project success
o Will project require internal resources? Are they available?
o Estimated cost
o Estimated time to complete the project
In addition to the Project Proposal Form, include a brief description of the project using no more than 525 words (the word count is in addition to the proposal form), that addresses the following:
o A description of how this project met the definition and characteristics of a project as defined in Ch. 1 of Project Management (Why would you consider it a project rather than day-to-day operation?)
o Provide an example and explanation of a program as well as a portfolio management from your organization.
o Describe the project management structure in your organization explaining pros and cons in terms of project outcomes (based on the structures discussed in Ch. 3 of Project Management)
o Describe your company organizational culture using the concepts from Ch. 3 of Project Management (How does the cultural norms affect projects from a positive or negative perspective?)
