Antique Victorian Gold Locket Pendant for Necklace Violets Rocky Point

A Wonderful Antique Victorian - Art Nouveau Era Gold Locket with Painted Violets from Rocky Point Amusement Park, R.I. (Pre Disneyland Park), Pendant for Necklace, c.1890. This beautiful antique locket is adorned with painted Violets and says Rocky Point Park, R.I. Rocky Point Park was first conceived by Captain William Winslow in the 1840s. By 1847, he had purchased a part of the land and began to offer amusements and serve dinner. The setting is composed of antique gold filled with mother of pearl front. Overall the locket measures about 1 3/8 inches long by about 1 inch wide. This locket was acquired through an estate collection and dates to the Victorian - Art Nouveau Era, circa 1890. A rare and unusual find with wear to the design as to be expected for a piece of this age.
