Antique Austro Hungarian Large Amethyst Pendant Necklace Silver Victorian Edwardian c.1890

A Stunningly Gorgeous Antique Austro Hungarian Substantial Amethyst Pendant Necklace Silver Victorian Edwardian c.1890. Absolutely stunning in every way is this antique necklace made during the later Victorian to Edwardian Era, circa 1890. The piece is composed of a beautiful faceted amethysts adorning an ornate silver floral handmade setting. The larger amethyst measures about 17 x 23mm oval. The teardrop amethyst measures about 14 x 23mm. These pieces were done in a Renaissance Revival style and drew upon the designs seen in the magnificent paintings of the nobility on the 1600's. Overall the pendant portion measures about 2 1/2 inches long by about 1 5/16 inches wide. It is on the original silver handmade chain and overall the necklace measures about 17 1/4 inches long. The clasp has been replaced over the years. In lovely vintage condition with very little wear to the stones. A rare and beautiful find.
