The "Ají Limo" is originally from Peru. It is a very fruitful variety and has an excellent fruity aroma, reminiscent of the aroma of Havana. Plants of this variety measure approximately one meter. The “Ají Limo” is very spicy and its fruits measure 1-12 cm. The fruits can take spherical or elongated forms. In the kitchen it can be used to make sauces or like any other Havana. There are also varieties with larger fruits, although all have fruits with a very similar shape.
In Peru, this species is cultivated in the coast, mountains and Amazonia up to 1500 m, in areas of humid and warm climate, under temperatures ranging between 18 and 24 ºC. It is mainly used for cebiche and tiradito.
