For Gentle Healing
The name “Zam-buk” is believed to be based on a town named Zambuk located in South Africa. A South African product, it is an important first aid medicine/antiseptic for any cuts on the skin and recognized as effective for killing germs that entered the skin. In addition, it is also useful for aches and sprains.
Zam-buk was introduced to Australia, Canada, England and New Zealand at around 1903. Prior to the time of antibiotics, rugby and football players have died from infection to the cuts or grazes on their knees incurred during their games. To eliminate risk of infection, St Johns ambulance men start to carry Zam-buk in their kit bags to treat injured rugby and football players on the field. As a result, the term “Zam-buk” is used to mean St Johns ambulance men and first-aid officers in Australia and New Zealand until the 1970s.
Today, Zam-buk is widely used around the world and loved by generations for its amazing healing powers. Keep it in your medicine chest to help relieve skin irritations, cuts, sores, bruises, strains and sprains, chilblains, insect bites and stings etc. Invaluable for travelling.
