FAIRMONT HOTEL - San Francisco, California - 1950s Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a nice vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from the "fabulous" Fairmont Hotel, located "Atop Nob Hill" in San Francisco, California.
The inside lists the various restaurants, lounges, and banquet rooms located in the hotel: Tonga Room, Cirque Room, Venetian Room, Papagayo Room, Squire Room, La Ronde Room, Blum's, and Camellia Room. The hotel's phone number is listed as "DO. 2-8800".

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but the old style phone number probably places it around the 1950s or earlier.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is lightly soiled and has wear along the edges and folds. The striker strip shows at least some evidence of use, and there's an extra set of staple holes in the striker strip area. The front of the cover looks like it might be just slightly faded. (Please see scans.)
