This is a fairly heavy piece of jewelry; from the prongs it should be a dress clip but it is certainly heavy enough for a fur clip!
Addressing the clip first...it is large and has 3 sets of "teeth" that look serious about their work. They are deep enough that I would wonder about their effect on anything but a heavy fabric! That said, multiple teeth usually do indicate the dress clip.
The front is done in a lovely design of deep blue cabochon style glass clusters accented with antiqued finish leaves.
I have questioned the back of this piece...the goldtone on the back doesn't look the same as the clip(which of course could be a difference in metals)...there is a spot of tarnish/wear toward the bottom. The goldtone on the back matches the antiqued gold on the front, but to me it just looks a bit "newer."
Whatever it is, it has been very carefully done and certainly doesn't detract from the overall beauty of the piece. I just felt I should mention this up front...would like to think I'm just overcautious!
It measures 2" x 1-1/4" and is in very good condition overall. It has an excellent heft to it as do most wellmade wintage pieces.
This would be a beautiful piece to wear any time that you are where the light would catch the gorgeous color of the blue stones!
