A Stunning and Rare Antique Georgian Romantic Period Enamel Portrait Locket, Gold Pendant for Necklace c.1820. This gorgeous and and rare piece is estimated to date to the late Georgian, early Victorian Era, circa 1820 Romantic Era. It depicts a hand painted enameled portrait of a young woman with roses in her ringlet hair. There are no markings on the piece, but the work indicates French in origin. The enamel is done upon yellow gold. The locket is in very good shape for its age with a few indents here and there. It opens and closes securely and still has the original glass inside. Overall it measures about 1 5/16 inches long with bail by about 13/16 inch wide. A wonderful and rare find.
