Blackmores Bio C 1000mg Tabletscontainsbioflavonoids that help increase the uptake and ultilisation ofvitamin C in the body. The formula is buffered with mineralascorbates making it gentle on the stomach, and contains thenatural sources of vitamin C, rosehips and acerola. Vitamin C iscommonly used to:* reduce the severity and duration of colds and allergicreactions;* assist wound healing via its role in collagen production.Vitamin C is involved in hundreds of biological process, the mostimportant being in the manufacture of collagen, the majorprotein in the body. Collagen is a structural protein found intissue, cartilage and tendons, and it helps to support bloodvessels. Due to its structural role in collagen synthesis vitamin Cis necessary for wound repair, healthy gums, prevention ofbruising and to protect against infection.Vitamin C is water-soluble and only small amounts are stored inthe body after it is absorbed from the intestine.
