Rare Antique Victorian Lava Cameo Earrings 18K Gold Italian 1830s

A Wonderful and Rare Antique Victorian Lava Cameo Earrings, 18K Gold Italian circa 1830's, Neo-Classic Revival Period. These exquisite antique earrings are from the early part of the Victorian Era, estimated to date circa 1830's. These earrings represent the early Neo-Classical period when many discoveries of ancient artifacts influenced the design of arts and architecture. They are composed of hand carved lava stone cameos with lovely sculptural relief, hand carved in Italy. The settings are composed of fine 18K yellow gold with French level fittings for pierced ears. It appears one was lovingly repaired many years ago with a solder on the backside. Each earring measures about 1 1/8 inches long with wire tops by about 11/16 inch wide. These earrings are a rare find.
