NOVAK'S TOWNE TERRACE - Brookline, Massachusetts - Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a nice vintage standard-sized matchbook cover from Novak's Towne Terrace restaurant, located on Beacon Street in Brookline, Massachusetts. It claimed to have "Superb Food" and "COCKTAILS". The phone number was given in the old style as "LO. 6-3469".
On the inside it states that "The Restaurant of Distinction" had "Party Facilities" and a "COCKTAIL LOUNGE".

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but the style of the phone number probably places it in the 1950s, or perhaps early 1960s.
Condition: Good, I'd say. The cover is lightly soiled and the striker strip appears to show some use. There's also noticeable damage to the striker strip area, likely from rough removal of the staple that held the matches, along with an additional set of staple holes which pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
