LARCHMONT LOUNGE - Chicago, Illinois - 1950s(?) Vintage Matchbook Cover
Description: Here's a vintage standard-sized matchbook cover for the Larchmont Lounge, 3937 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago 13, Illinois. It was run by Pete & Jean Schneider, and featured "GERMAN COOKING". The phone number is shown in the old style of "LIncoln 9-9322".
There's no printing on the inside.

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but judging by the style of the phone number and the use of a postal zone number in the address (rather than a Zip code) it looks to be from the 1950s.
Condition: Just good, I'd say. The cover is just a bit soiled, while the striker strip shows some limited use. However, there's some damage to the striker strip area, likely from the rough removal of the staple that held the matches, along with an additional set of staple holes that pass through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
