This great design from Alfred Phillipe for Trifari made its debut in 1949 and has been an iconic design ever since. To quote from Julia Carroll's book "Costume Jewelry 202: "this popular set features fiery shooting strands of baguette rhinestones set in gold-tone Trifanium." That describes them as well as anyone can! (My camera simply couldn't do justice to the sparkle in this set!)
All the baguettes are still sparkling, clean and intact
The necklace is marked "Trifari Pat Pend"; the earrings are marked Trifari with the crown and "Pat Pend" below. .
I've read that the set was also made with colored baguettes but have only seen a picture of one piece in red. Can't imagine that any other color would be as striking as the original!
The necklace measures 15" in length with a foldover clasp; the center motif is 2-1/2" wide. The earrings measure 1-5/8" in length and are made to swing when you walk for added sparkle They thought of everything, didn't they!
This set has been lovingly cared for...there is only a bit of wear where the center would rest against a pretty throat. It's in excellent condition for a set that is quite proudly 65 years young!
This is a set that is timeless...for you to enjoy and cherish. And someday it will still be a set worth sharing with another generation! Timeless!
