The Theremaniacs Volume Unit can also be used with Harris Instruments 'Minimum' Theremin,
the Burns line of pitch only Theremins to include the Burns 'Zep' and Burns 'Great Sounding' Theremin.
Functions well with other photo-theremins to give them volume control ability.
The antenna is a one 18 inch long piece of copper plated steel rounded to a 6 inch loop.
Unit operates by connecting two guitar cords to the quality REAN 1/4 inch jacks.
Professional photo etched circuit board made by Theremaniacs housed in a small size battery operated unit.
The enclosure measures 1 inch by 1.5 inches by 5.5 inches.
Battery will last over 200 hours and can be connected to a 9-12 volt power supply. (Not included)
Very easy access battery door.
Circuit consumes only about 2 milliamps. This is much less than one LED indicator lamp.
Theremin sound will start to become quiet about 1/2 foot above the antenna slowly diminishing to nothing just above the antenna.
Connect this to a Theremaniacs Analog Pitch Theremin and you will rival a much higher priced Moog unit.
The Theremaniacs Volume Unit can sit on a microphone stand (not included) with mounting adapter that can be set to operate horizontally or vertically.
The adapter can be removed for table top use.
The unit turns on when a cord is inserted into the input jack. The Theremaniacs Volume Unit also attenuates the harsh signal that many if not all of these pitch Theremins produce that can overdrive your amplifier.
An added bonus is a volume control for the output signal.
