Majolica Pottery Footed Pedestal Compote,Tazza or Cake Stand,Grape Leaves,Berries
Beautiful antique Majolica Pottery designed green and yellow grape leaves with clusters of purple grape berries at the bottom. In the center is a pebbled texture, guess you can call it canolope design.
Is a footed pedestal compote tazza or cake stand.
THIS IS A VERY EARY PIECE BUT NOT SURE OF THE PACIFIC DATE
The condition of this majolica piece is Near-Excellent for its age. No major chips or cracts. It does have some tiny flea bites/chips on the edges in some areas at the top plate and some on its base. (Tried to show you in our photo but light washed it out.) Some age crazing.
Inside the base stem it bears the MARK: In black letters, Foreign and the number 77. (Could this piece have been made in 1877 ??). Embedded in the pottery is the number 4578.
Measurements: Top plate is 9-1/2 inches in diameter, 4 inches high. Bottom base 5-1/2 inches in diameter.
