Collectable Handmade Bulbous Glass Carafe.
This is a rather attractive dinnerware object, of English origin and dating to ca. 1910.
Rather elegant to table Carafe, when entertaining people who drop round for dinner, or some special occasion.
Made of hand blown spiral glass, with a bulbous hour glass shape; mounted with silver plated collar and handle.
A rather nice quality object, which was used for serving decanted table wines, yet at others times was utilised for serving fragrant Mulled Wines in winter.
Not heavy to lift, yet pours rather well; avoiding those unwanted drips and unpleasant stains.
Somewhat surprisingly the decanter rather accentuates the colour of wine contents, especially when using candles on the table.
Approximate size in centimeters is ca; H. 30.0. Base dia. 8.7. Weight; 480 grams ( under a lb)
Condition; The condition is good, with normal wear and tear, There is no damage such as chips, cracks etc.
NOTE; These objects, are not meant to used in conjunction with ice cubes, metal /glass stirring rods etc, as the glass is very finely blown.
