Original Batik Art Painting on Cotton, 'Dragon and Phoenix' by Kapitan (90cm x 150cm)

This unique and exclusive batik painting on cotton is delicately hand drawn using the 'canting' and 'tulis' methods, whereby hot wax is flown from the canting's tiny, downward-curving spouts straight onto the cotton cloth decorously then vividly painted by the master batik artist, Kapitan.

This batik piece may seem like an ocean full of colours but it actually depicts two strong animals which are the dragon and phoenix. Painted creatively, the artisan skillfully creates this abstract kind of a piece to look like a splash of colours. Dragons and phoenixes are said to bring good fortune to ones’ surrounding.
