Pelican Pete – Mosaic Relief Carving

This mosaic relief carving of Pelican Pete is handcrafted from ¼” and ½” popular wood. Pete is mounted onto a pine biomorphic shaped plaque base to accent the carving with an overall measurement of 9 ¼” wide by 15” high by 1 3/8” thick. The spectacular colors are created using a pickling process to allow the wood grain to show through and yield a rustic weathered appearance. Clear acrylic sealer was applied as the finish coat to protect the wood. The plaque is suspended from a chain for wall hanging.
