Wide Gathering Foot #16
Gathering is easy with the right foot! Use the Wide Gathering Foot #16 to gather single layers of fabric in all fabric types.
* The slot of the foot allows the gathering of one piece of fabric while it is being attached to another (ungathered) layer. A ruffle can be made and attached in one operation
* The amount of gathering can be adjusted by varying stitch length and needle thread tension
* For heavier fabrics, the use of the long stitch or basting stitch will facilitate gathering
* The distance between rows of gathering ranges from a minimum of 3/16" (5mm) to a maximum of 3/8" (10mm)
