ANTIQUE UZBEK SUZANI SILK EMBROIDERY, Tashkent, circa 1920.

Here is an rare amazing antique Central Asia silk embroidery - Uzbek Suzani, from Tashkent region. The embroidery was made in the the first half of the 20th century, circa 1920. This Suzani was used to decorate high walls in big house of a prosperous uzbek family. The foundation of the silk handmade embroidery is a red cotton fabric as well. The pattern of embroidery is very old composed of several rossets with buds and flowers inside !!!

Stitch: couching, very fine embroidery, mostly dyes is natural. Size is 7'8" x 7'2" or 230 - 215 cm. In excellent condition, without holes and dirty places, ready to use, only in one edge have a foundation in other color.


This Suzani from Tashkent region is a perfect sample of Uzbek Great Skill and quality of handmade embroideries. The item is a fine decoration for your interior!
