Graduated from the Academy of Arts (1915; studied in the class of L.N. Benois), professor of the Academy of Arts, and head of the workshop (1922-48). Was involved in the implementation of the plan of monumental propaganda (monument to Revolutionary fighters on the Field of Mars, 1918-19; see Monument to the Victims of the Revolution), in the construction of the therapy centre in Moskovsky-Narvsky district on Kosinova Street (1927-33), of the building of the Textile Institute at 18 Bolshaya Morskaya Street (1928-29), residential area for Army Medical Academy specialists on Botkinskaya Street (in collaboration with O.M. Lyalin, 1930s). From 1934, he headed the project workshop of the Defence Ministry. In 1924-42, he lived at 17 Kirochnaya Street (commemorative plaque). From 1942, he lived and worked in Moscow.
