In Russian folklore, it is good luck to eat a 5 petal lilac.

Pressed lilacs can be used in many different artistic ways. They may be included in paintings, drawings, or other pieces of art, they can be put in epoxy or glued onto a pendant to make into jewelry, they can be used as decorate objects for wallpaper, etc. They are somewhat fragile in their pressed state, so they should be preserved with some sort of glue or resin. With most glues, the lilacs turn wood brown upon contact, but they are still beautiful.
