DJ is not clipped but has some small tears on edges. Retired library discard with the usual marks and attachments. Pocket removed. 192 pages. From the inside flap: It began with the appearance in New Orleans of Pro Cheney with a letter of introduction in Simon Beaufort from Jon Manetti, a Louisiana studying in New York City. Pro Cheney, psychologist, scientist, believer in extrasensory perception and ghosts, was anxious to visit some of the old New Orleans homes, it seemed, and Simon took him at once to meet Cecily Pinchon. Pretty blonde Cecily, a member of one of the old New Orleans families, but longing to show her independence, had recently accepted a job as hostess at the Flowering Vine, a restaurant in the Vieux Carre owned by Madam Blanchard, a friend of Cecily's grand mother.
