This is the classic poem by Robert Browning about the piper who saved a town overrun by rats but the townspeople did not want to pay him the fee agreed upon so he charmed the children with his flute and away they went never to be seen again.
What I love about this book are the illustrations. The illustrations are by Kate Greenaway. Wonderfuld colors, great expressions and movement done in a vintage style.
These illustrations could be framed, used in cards, collages, scrapbooking, altered art - - lots of different applications - - even framing some would make nice room decor.
The book cover shows wear and inside there is one page that has a tear. No scribbles or markings. Nicely tanned pages for a vintage look. 38 illustrations. book measures 10" x 7-1/2".
