> This specialty needle set card Sample No. 40 B.B. from 1905 was copyrighted by George Barbour, and designed to look like a bank passbook containing a check
> Card front is printed with The Individuals Savings Bank and a 10% off advertisement for Barnett & Co., Dealers in Everything, 1907 to 1919 Broadway, New York
> Inside, the left side has a set of 11 assorted specialty needles that are held neatly in place by blue fabric
> The specialty needle types are printed, e.g., "Glove or Fur Needle," "Shoe Button Needle," etc., and the set has 11 of the original 15 needles
> Attached on the lower left side of the inside is a small decorative paper lift envelope with a colorful foil cover, containing 25 Martha Washington Elliptic Gold Ey'd Sharps needles
> The inside right hand side is illustrated with a cashed Safe Deposit Bank Check with a dog logo, made out for $75.00, dated Dec. 31st, 1905, and signed by "Getem, Holdem & Co." along with green bills beneath
> Back is illustrated with a gentleman's hand holding a fistful of cash, below which is printed "A handful of money can be saved every month if you buy at Barnett & Co. ..."
> Card is marked at the bottom of page 2 that it was printed by the London Needle Co., Adv. Dept., 112 East 125th St., N.Y.
> Card measures 6.5 x 3.75 inches when folded closed and 5.25 x 7.5 inches when open
CONDITION: Very good, with normal age-related darkening of the paperboard, creases and a small 1/4 cut on the protruding lower edge of the check, rubbed areas on the protruding check edges, but no writing or marks. The specialty needle set is missing four of the 15 original needles. All printing is crisp and clear. The images are still distinct. The specialty needles are in varying condition, some are in mint condition, and others have minor age-related corrosion, as may be expected given their age. The sharps are in excellent condition.
