Sawasdee from Thailand!
A beautiful new, intricate, elegant and unique, top quality, handcrafted 100% silk "Khom Jok" fabric from the minority ethnic Khmer master weavers of rural Laos.
In the Mekong River Basin where Thailand, Laos, and Cambodian cultures and ethnic minority groups come together traditional silk weaving is still an important tradition. Your support will help preserve and promote this ancient art form!
Over two yards long! This unique one-of-a-kind handcrafted Laotian Khom Jok silk is thick and heavy, weighs about 160 grams and measures a generous ~18.5" x 77" + knotted fringe
The distinctive patterns in this Jok silk are called "Khom". Khom patterns are most commonly associated with ethnic Khmer weavers. Such silks are prized for their discontinuous supplementary weft patterns and hand-embroidered detail.
Traditional silks of this size and quality are quite rare and difficult to find. We do our best to take accurate pictures- as you can see above, the colors of pure handwoven silk vary depending on lighting and angle of view.
This beautiful silk Khom Jok masterpiece was entirely hand woven and hand-embroidered on a traditional wooden loom!
Please Note: This is a TOP quality silk! We inspect every silk we offer and only sell high quality silks! Minor imperfections are part of the charm and character of handcrafted Laotian silk. If not completely satisfied please return this lovely silk to us for a refund (minus shipping) or exchange.
