The print on this beautiful top is a fusion of two ancient Japanese tales- Urashima Taro and Jugo-Ya

Ukiyoe is a style of wood block printing created and developed in Japan during the Edo era (1603-1867). "Uki" means floating and "yo" means world. "e"in Ukiyoe means picture(s). So Ukiyoe literally means "pictures of the floating world." Ukiyoe describes the Japanese landscapes, the everyday life of commoners, kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers, landscapes and beautiful women.

Thai Fisherman Pants have a very wide waist with a belt that ties from the rear. Simply step into the pants,pull the waist out to one side, wrap the extra fabric around to the front and tie the belt. Length can be adjusted by folding over the top of the pants!

The art prints on these hand crafted Thai Fisherman Pants are hand screened using high quality non-toxic "watercolor technique" dyes on a wax press. We recommend hand wash or machine wash on gentle setting to preserve the colors.
