Three Second Kiss are from Bologna, Italy, although their sound is awfully mid-'90s Midwest American. Their math rock-y, slanted, start-and-stop heavy sound recalls nothing more than Chicago and Louisville mainstays like U.S. Maple, The Jesus Lizard, and Slint. They've even toured with the likeminded Shellac and June of 44. LONG DISTANCE corrects a relative paucity of Three Second Kiss releases available in the States. It's no mere fond look back at the abovementioned bands' styles, but an exciting, impactful record in its own right.
