1919 Pastel DeLavel Chromolithograph Smiling Lady farm Tractor Hay Delaval Print
Lovely woman posing in portrait in this antique pastel coloring lithograph print. She as the main focal point has short wavy auburn brown hair and wearing a soft butter yellow dress with blue trim on her collar. You can see her home on the left under the shading of a large tree, a dirt path on the right, and can view an old tractor with iron wheels pulling a huge load of hay in the background.
The coloring is mesmerizing with various hues of the rich blues as the main color. Just like the Maxfield Parrish prints.
Am not certain if this was part of a calendar print, we purchased this already trimmed as shown. The new owner can straighten the cut, if desired. It is a LARGER lithograph that would make sense that this was advertisement for farming.
I have found out that this calendar top image was for advertisement of DELAVEL products.
Print measures 9-1/4 inches wide by 12-1/8 inches high. Housed in its lovely walnut or maple frame that gradually tapers up from the edge, then drops down to the print. Gives it a more shadowbox depth to it. Frame measures 13 inches wide by 15 inches high, 1-1/4 inches deep. Wood frame has scratches on it, not too bad.
