This book is an account of the Blitz through Western Europe in 1939-1940, the swift victories in North Africa, and slow defeats that followed, and finally of the efforts to defend against the Allies invasion of France in 1944 taken from Erwin Rommel's papers with additional material provided by General Bayerlein on the Winter campaign. Rommel's son and widow provided other insights.
This book uses Rommel's diaries, letters and personal papers, which were secreted away by his wife from the Nazis. With the assistance of his family, this book provides a fine insight into the mind and actions of one of the premier battlefield commanders of the Second World War ( WWII ).
Includes 23 Maps (2 pull-out), 2 COLOR Maps on Endpapers, and 25 Photo Plates. This is a MUST for any World War 2 or History Buff or Collector!!
