Formed in Notting Hill in 1978 by Jaz Coleman, Geordie Walker, Youth and Paul Ferguson, their dark experimental style provided one of the main steps on from punk rock. As the years passed, Youth left to be replaced by Paul Raven (Youth rejoined in the mid-90s, but their most recent incarnation features Raven) and Ferguson left to be replaced by Martin Atkins and then a number of temporary drummers. Massively influential on a range of different styles of music, they pioneered the industrial metal style with 1990's Extremities, Dirt And Various Repressed Emotions. ` This exquisite piece of retro music history is a vinyl sound recording (not a CD).
