Six year old Albin Landberg vanishes from his preschool and the hole of Ystad is engaged in the families and the polices more and more desperate search for him. The clues soon leads Kurt Wallander and his colleagues in the direction of a man who has once been convicted as a pedofile. He has rescently served his punishment in jail. But even the preschools teachers, the boys family and everybody who has known him are forced to be intarigated by the police. The crime seems to have much more complicated relations then the Ystads police could ever have imagined.
