This is a great sequined top from a quantity of glamourous clothing I found at an estate sale for a woman who had been both an avid collector and entrepreneur with shops in the southwest. The clothing had been stored for some time; most things survived well .
One apology though...I took these pictures outside when the sun was setting...there is more yellow or gold in the pictures that I couldn't remove without losing too much color. It is more ivory than yellow.
This is a wonderful creation! The label says it's by Sammy Wong, Hand Beaded Sweater Co. Kowloon, Hong Kong, Imported, 100% Lambs Wool, Made in Hong Kong, and 44. Took 3 labels to say all that!
The jacket/top is worth it though! (I thought at first it was a jacket...probably could be worn that way...but the neckline is a bit lower in the front.) There is a wonderful leaf or feather design done in white seed beads that literally dances all over. The beads outline the neckline and sleeve bottoms plus form a loop fringe around the bottom...outlining the larger white beads.
The effect is stunning! It is also a very heavy piece, telling you how much workmanship was put into it! The bustline measures about 22" across the back lying flat, the sleeves are 17" long and it measures 24" from shoulder to bottom of trim for length. It's in excellent condition for a vintage item.
This is a piece that is made for making an entrance in...definitely for the woman who loves elegance and beautiful things!
