  • Description
Here's a very nice unused glossy full-color postcard featuring the State Capitol building and Lafayette Statue in Hartford, Conn.

The back indicates that the card was published by H. P. Koppleman and is a "Lusterchrome", made only by Tichnor Bros., of Boston, Mass. It bears the code number "K-2506".

Text on the back reads:

"Hartford, Capital of the State of Connecticut is an important commercial and manufacturing city, called the insurance city because forty-six nationally known Insurance Companies maintain home offices in Hartford. The Travelers Tower, 527 feet in height, is the tallest in New England while the Aetna Life Insurance Company is housed in the largest Colonial structure in the world. The State Capitol is a beautiful building erected in 1877 at a cost of over $3,000,000. The city has many parks including Elizabeth Park, scene of an annual Rose festival in June.

Size: approx. 3½" x 5½"

Date: Not explicitly dated but appears to me to be from the 1950s

Condition: Fine, I'd say. The card is unused, but the corners have faint diagonal impressions from prior storage in a traditional postcard album and there are a couple tiny spots of foxing on the back. (Please see scans).

MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING DISCOUNT: I will ship up to 4 cards for the single base shipping charge shown. For purchases of more than 4 cards, the shipping charge will increase by just a small increment for every 4 additional cards.
